Dummy bar storage device is an important part of the continuous casting machine. It consists of three parts of dummy bar head, transition piece and dummy bar body. It withdraws the strand out of the mold to the secondary cooling system in cast-on.
New Anjie produces rigid dummy bar, a solid arc steel rod with hook. A detachable dummy bar head is mounted on its top. During the casting, the motor and reducer of the storage unit drive the upper gear on the transmission shaft of the clutch, then drives the rack on the dummy bar, and finally drives the dummy bar down from the storage position.
When the dummy bar drives the driving roll through the straightening unit, the driving roll should run at a higher speed but lower than the transmission speed of the dummy bar storage device. Then, the driving roll continues to convey the dummy bar. Once the dummy bar head approaches the mold outlet, slow down. Dummy bar plugs up the mold outlet to make the liquid steel solid in front of the dummy bar. The straightening unit withdraw the dummy bar, dummy bar head and the conjoined arc strand out of the mold. Then passes the secondary cooling system and straightening unit. When the strand head goes through the stripping roll, the cylinder piston rod of the stripping roll lowers. Then the stripping roll automatically depresses to separate the dummy bar head from the dummy bar. And the stripping roll continuous to straighten the strand, entering the normal process of strand withdraw. Through the drive of the storage device, the dummy bar goes on rising to the specified position and being fixed.
